Thinking IS the Foundation for Learning
The mission of the non-profit Thinking Foundation is to support high quality research on cognitive skills development, creativity, and critical reflection—at pre-school, K-12 and college levels in order to transform learning, literacy, teaching and leadership around the world for those with the greatest need.
Thinking Schools International
Thinking Schools International collaborates with projects in various countries. All these schools take a whole-school approach to the teaching of thinking and share good practice, resources and expertise. Within the TSI website there is a library of resources available to all schools in the network. There are currently over 400 schools in the United Kingdom that are part of the Thinking Schools network. A major project is with the Malaysian Government where together the collaboration is aiming to have all Malaysian schools become thinking schools as part of a national innovation strategy.
Thinking Maps®, Inc.
Thinking Maps, developed by Dr. David Hyerle, are visual teaching tools that foster and encourage lifelong learning. They are based on a simple yet profound insight: The one common instructional thread that binds together all teachers, from pre-kindergarten through postgraduate, is that they all teach the same thought processes.
Thinking Maps, Inc. is committed to improving the quality of teaching and learning through the effective implementation of Thinking Maps in schools and school districts around the world. Through quality training, materials and support services, we will equip learning communities with the tools necessary to become successful thinkers, problem solvers, decision makers, and ultimately, lifelong learners.
